Environment

We have looked for the best solutions with the help of technology to reduce pollution for the pupils and the staff working in the school.

Air Purifiers – In 2019, we completed the installation of high performance IQ Air Purifiers in all classrooms as well as in common areas. Each classroom has its own wireless monitor that records the pollution level and CO2 level allowing the teacher to manage the air quality through good use of ventilation, enhancing learning and health conditions.

Cleaning Programme – Since the school opened in 2005 we empty every room in the school during the summer holidays, disinfect and clean every item, and completely redecorate and refresh all walls, ceilings and floors. The result is that children return to a “new” school every year.

Pastoral Care

Our pupils’ wellbeing is as important as the academic achievements. We believe that we can create a strong culture of care.

Pastoral care is at the heart of the school‘s ethos. We teach our pupils values of friendship and respect:

Activities – We regularly present activities such as workshops or dedicated days to raise the awareness of understanding the importance of maintaining a balanced daily life.

Weekly ‘drop-in’ sessions – Our Pastoral Care’s leader holds a weekly ‘drop-in session’ where children can share any concerns or feelings they might have.

Sharing Boxes – Each class holds a ‘sharing boxes’ where the pupils can deposit messages. We encourage all pupils to express themselves and to share in confidence any worries or concern they may have.

Our school is housed in friendly buildings that are constantly being renewed and updated to meet today’s educational, safeguarding children and technological requirements.

L’Ecole de Battersea fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection, and the great importance of the protection and welfare of children. We believe that this is a shared community responsibility and that failure to provide an effective response can have serious consequences for a child.
